Dr Tajana Griessmann-Gehrt
PhD in educational psychology
In my studies, my educational training and many additional dedicated courses I have focused on a number of specific psychological states and challenges. In particular, I have specialised on the following topics:
- Depressions, anxieties
- Complicated relationships/ family situations/ family constellations
- Values and self esteem
- Death, mourning
- Conflict resolution
- Coaching, e.g. for professional development and change
- Communication and job application training
The humanistic idea is the basis of my work. In the therapeutic setting and in the counselling process, I emphasise the resource-oriented, active and solution-oriented approach. Also for mediation, trainings or team building processes, this approach is very relevant. For a detailed description of my working methods, please go to: Approach
On the basis of many different work experiences in a number of European countries, I have got to know a variety of different working contexts and acquired intercultural competences. Therefore, I am familiar with the challenges that one is often confronted with in foreign countries, such as new environments, high fluctuation of colleagues and acquaintances, and different languages. Also the reconciliation of work-related requirements with private circumstances, such as a long-distance relationship, is often very difficult.
I am member of the Belgian Commission of Psychologists
(no.: 822211022) and member of the German Association for Systemic Therapy, Counselling and Family Therapy (DGSF).
I regularly participate in specialised courses, conferences etc. in order to further my expertise and I take part in supervision and intervision groups.
I live with my family in Ixelles, Brussels. I like Art Nouveau, travelling, playing badminton and watching detective thrillers.
